International Delegates

Delegates will include tulip & floral festival organizers and representatives from around the world.  Displays from the international delegates own festivals will be prominently showcased throught the summit.  Read up on the expected international delegates below.

 

Afghanistan    

The invitation to Afghanistan relates to the country's historic links to the possible point of origin of tulips.
       
Australia    

There is an annual Tulip Floriade in Canberra Australia with a public park planted out in tulip mosaics.  Visit www.floriadeaustralia.com for more information.
       
Canada     The Canadian Tulip Festival (Ottawa) will be represented by the Summit President, Michel Gauthier and the Summit "Artist in Residence" Monique Martin.  Visit www.tulipfestival.ca for more information about the festival in Ottawa.
       
Chile     Tulips are grown in Chile and the bulbs exported to Holland.
       
Netherlands     The Keukenhof in the Netherlands is the world's largest bulb garden attraction. Visit http://www.keukenhof.nl/ for more information.
       
Japan     Tonami is the tulip growing area in Japan which also has a Tulip Garden and Tulip Exhibition.
       
Turkey     Tulips were transported into Europe from Turkey over 400 years ago and Istanbul holds an annual Tulip Festival.
       
UK     The Spalding Tulip Parade in the UK celebrated its 50th birthday in 2008 and was host to the 2008 World Tulip Summit.
       
China     The Luoyang Peony Festival, Henan Province, China.

USA
